General Rules

  • Any entry that fails to follow competition rules will be disqualified from the competition.
  • Incomplete entries will have no opportunity for re-submission.
  • If you need to withdraw an entry, please contact CEDIA at 800.669.53296 or awards@cedia.org.
    • There will be no refunds for entries not submitted.
  • There is no limit to the number of products that may be entered for Best New Product.
  • For the category of Product Hall of Fame, a company may only submit one product per year. 
  • Any physical material mailed to CEDIA Headquarters becomes the property of CEDIA and will not be returned.
  • By Submitting an entry, you agree to receive any, and all, emails from CEDIA regarding the Awards Program.
  • All submissions must be completed online, entries via mail or email will not be accepted.

 

Entrant Eligibility

  • All entrants must be a CEDIA Manufacturer Member in good standing.
  • For the categories of Best New Product, the entrant must be a 2016 CEDIA Exhibitor.
  • Entrant may not be a member of the current CEDIA Board of Directors.  

 

Product Eligibility

  • For the category of Best New Product, the date on which product begins shipping to dealers must fall between October 31, 2015 and September 30, 2016.
  • For the category of Product Hall of Fame, the product must have entered the market a minimum of 7 years ago. Product Hall of Fame entries are eligible for repeat entry into the competition.  This award may not be given annually.

 

Judging

  • Best New Product entries will be reviewed by a panel of volunteer judges, which come from a wide range of disciplines within the home technology industry. The panel will first determine up to 30 finalists.  Up to 10 Winners will then be determined by the judging panel on site at CEDIA 2016. 
  • Product Hall of Fame entries are review by a panel of volunteer judges, which come from a wide range of disciplines within the home technology industry.  The panel will determine up to three Product Hall of Fame Inductees.
  • Judges reserve the right to decline to issue a particular award if none of the eligible entries merit recognition. All judges’ decisions are final.

 

Awarding

  • Best New Product Finalists will be announced in August 2016.
  • Best New Product Winners and Product Hall of Fame Inductees will be announced at CEDIA 2016.
