Delta Community Credit Union 2023 Scholarship Program

Delta Community Credit Union is committed to improving the financial lives of its members. Our financial resources for young adults and the annual Scholarship Program were created to help members with early financial milestones, like going to college. Scholarship awards are based on academic achievement, community service and submission of an essay on a topic selected by the Credit Union. Getting Started

To start a new scholarship application, you will need to click Register and create a new scholarship account. This will be unique to this scholarship application and is not related to your Delta Community Online Banking account login. To access your scholarship application at any time click Login and enter the Username and Password you created when you registered.

Scholarship Awards

The Delta Community Credit Union Scholarship is designed to assist eligible members with college/higher education expenses. Delta Community will disburse five (5) $5,000 scholarships in 2023. Scholarships are earmarked for tuition, books, lodging or meal costs and will be made payable to the college, university or trade school by Delta Community. The school must be accredited and located in the United States.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet all of the following conditions:

  1. Be a Delta Community member and primary account holder in good standing at the time of application submission (no delinquent loans, overdrawn or charged off accounts at the time the award is given). Go to www.DeltaCommunityCU.com/Join to open an account.
  2. Be enrolled to attend an accredited college or university in the fall of the 2023-2024 academic year as a full-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree. Scholarship award must be used during the specified academic year.
  3. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) as of the end of the prior semester.

Delta Community Credit Union employees, board members and high school apprentices are not eligible to apply

Application Requirements

The following is required to be submitted with your application.

  1. Applicants must submit a copy of their transcript. Transcript must be current as of the end of the prior semester.
  2. High school seniors must provide a copy of letter of acceptance from an accredited college, university or trade school. If student has not made a final decision, they may provide one letter with the application package. Should the student be chosen as a scholarship recipient, we will verify their school of choice prior to funding award.
  3. Typed, double-spaced essay of at least 300 words (not more than 500 words) on the topic below. The essay will be judged on content, creativity and clarity. Additionally, correct grammar usage and spelling are expected.

Deadline

Applications must be complete and submitted by March 1, 2023 by 11:59 PM (EST). Application must be completed entirely via online application - no part of the application package should be sent in separately. Incomplete and/or late applications will not be accepted for consideration.

Selection & Announcement of Winners

Judging will take place by a selection panel, and winners will be announced on April 5, 2023. All selections are final. Applicants will be notified by a Credit Union representative via phone and/or email. 

Waiver

Winners must supply an official transcript of their year-end grades prior to the scholarship being funded to the college, university or trade school. Scholarship recipients agree to provide a photo and have their name published in Delta Community publications, on our website and social media outlets, and participate in future advertisements and other media materials. Scholarship winners may also be asked to participate in various social networking sites on behalf of the credit union.
