Recognizing top Jerseys on the Canadian show circuit.

2017 All Canadian Contest

Contest Rules & Regulations

Established in 1955, the All Canadian Contest is a Jersey Canada award program that recognizes top Jerseys on the Canadian show circuit. Traditionally these cows enjoy the attention and prestige of being named “All Canadian.”  Along with their photo and qualifying show results, winning and nominated cows are showcased in the February issue of the Jersey Breeder magazine as well as listed on the Jersey Canada website and announced through email and social media channels. For each class, All Canadian winners receive an award at the Jersey Canada Annual General Meeting. The All Canadian Contest has been sponsored in part by Purina and Barney Printing since 2003.

Show Eligibility

1.       Qualifying All Canadian Shows which take place in the provinces of Ontario or Quebec must have a minimum of 55 head of Jerseys shown, while qualifying All Canadian Shows which take place in any other province must have a minimum of 40 head shown in total.  In the case of all-breeds shows held in the Jersey West and Jersey Atlantic regions, the 40 head minimum applies to all animals shown regardless of breed.  (Apr 24, 2014)

2.       Only shows held in Canada will be considered in the All Canadian Contest.  (May 19, 2017)

3.       Eligible 4-H shows would include any qualifying “open show,” where the animal is the recognized 4-H project of the participant, and the 4-H member is leading the calf at the show.  In addition, 4-H Achievement Day show results, Western Canadian Classic (WCC) show results, and TD Canadian 4-H Dairy Classic results will be considered for the All Canadian Contest.  The only exception to the show size requirement is 4-H Achievement Day placings.  If 4-H show results, or 4-H placings within Open Shows are not voluntarily provided to the Jersey Canada office, then that show will not be considered an eligible qualifying 4-H show.
