Eligibility Requirements

1. Each Award category has its own eligibility and application requirements, and deadlines.

2. Applicants must complete the application requirements in their entirety

3. Applicants do not have to be nominated by their colleges to be eligible, but colleges/universities may nominate students. Students are permitted and encouraged to apply on their own. There is no limit to the number of applicants who can enter from a particular institution.

4. Applicants must agree, if selected as one of the three honorees in each category (public institutions, private institutions, community/technical colleges), to attend the awards ceremony and leadership conference.

5. Travel and hotel expenses to attend the awards ceremony are the responsibility of each applicant, although some or all expenses may be covered by the applicant’s institution and/or by sponsors.

6. The following individuals are not eligible: current employees or relatives of employees of College Student of the Year, Inc, the American Student Government Association, or any co-sponsor.

7. Three finalists will be chosen in each category.

8. Honorees agree to allow College Student of the Year, Inc. and ASGA to use their names, applications, voices, and/or likenesses in subsequent articles and/or public relations materials.

9. Income taxes on any and all prizes awarded are the sole responsibility of the recipients.

10. The judges reserve the right to exclude potential or current honorees whose applications prove to be false or misleading, before or after the judging process.

Honoree Notification

1. Honorees will be notified by e-mail.

2. Entrants will be notified of the status of their applications by e-mail.

3. Because of the volume of applications, it is not feasible for College Student of the Year, Inc. representatives to engage in written, electronic, or telephone correspondence with applicants regarding reasons for choosing or not choosing award recipients.
