Welcome to the 2019 Sergio Marchionne Student Achievement Awards Program!

 

Program Guidelines

 

The Awards Executive Committee, in accordance with the resolution taken by its companies and affiliates in North America, announces the decision to launch the Sergio Marchionne Student Achievement Awards Program for 2019 offered to the children of FCA NAFTA Employees.

 

Employee Eligibility:

Active full time FCA employees in the NAFTA region with at least one year of corporate service.

 

Applicant Eligibility:

Must be a child of an eligible employee. Children include natural or legally adopted children, stepchildren, and any other children for whom the eligible employee has been appointed legal guardian.   Children must have graduated by their 26th birthday.

Selection Criteria:

Selection criteria include, but are not limited to, written essay, academic curriculum, professional organizations, honors programs, grade point average, extracurricular and community service activities, excellence and recognition awards, and/or facing any hardships.

 

Application Process:

  • Students must register on the application website – www.smstudentachievementawards.com and upload supporting documentation.  A separate link will be provided for Canada, Mexico, and United States applicants.
  • The link to the application website can also be reached via Dashboard Anywhere > Development Channel or the UAW-Chrysler.com website.
  • Application Deadline – Applications and supporting documents must be submitted by February 28, 2019.

 

Documentation:

Applicant should be prepared to provide a written essay, a copy of their school transcript, legal evidence of proof of relationship to the eligible employee, and a description of memberships in professional organizations, activities, or awards.  All documents should be submitted in .pdf format and must be clearly legible. 

 

  • Transcript:  Must reflect all courses taken for completion of degree/diploma.  Partial transcripts will not be accepted.  Transcript details must include Grade Point Average (GPA), Date of Graduation, and Degree/Diploma conferred.   
  • Copy of Birth Certificate and/or Legal Documentation:  The eligible employee/parent’s name must appear on the documentation, along with the name of the student applying for the award to demonstrate proof of relationship. 
  • Essay:  Essay should be approximately 1000 to 1200 words in length, typewritten using a minimum of 12-point font, and double-spaced.  Pages should be numbered and include the student’s name on each page.  The essay should detail the candidate’s academic accomplishments and the motivation for achieving these accomplishments. It should also include a detailed description of extracurricular and/or work activities, service/community activities, hardships and any special circumstances associated with student’s studies.
  • Activities/Awards:  A separate listing and brief description of memberships in professional organizations, activities and awards received.

 

Tax Implications: The award received from this program is taxable income to the recipient. The recipient is responsible for all taxes related to this award. The taxable income will be reported to the:
