Scholarship Details

The Redefining Ready! National Twitter Scholarship 2017 America’s graduating seniors tell the world why they are college, career and life ready beyond a test score.

Scholarship Requirements 

  • Step One: Fill out the application
  • Step Two: Post one video 30 seconds maximum in length to Twitter
  • Step Three: Upload the video to this application

All materials are due Monday, May 22.

Note:

  • All applicants must tag @AASAHQ and @Hobsons when posting their video
  • All applicants must include the #RedefiningReady hashtag with their video
  • Any posts that are private will not count
  • Limit one entry per applicant
  • Open to graduating high school seniors only 
  • All applicants must post to Twitter AND upload to this application
  • All applicants must sign media waiver by checking the marked box at end of application
  • All submitted videos must be no longer than 30 seconds

Scholarship Criteria

Winners will be determined by an AASA selections committee primarily based on the 30-second video entry. Creativity counts, but so does honest, genuine content. We want to know your story. Make sure your message is clear and effectively illustrates the Redefining Ready! movement.

Redefining Ready! criteria can include: 

  • 2.8 minimum GPA
  • 3+ score on an AP exam
  • Completion of AP or dual-credit classes
  • Completion of Algebra II
  • Completion of an industry credential
  • Identification of a career pathway
  • Participation in a workplace learning experience (internship program)
  • 2+ organized co-curricular activities
  • 25+ community service hours
  • 90 percent attendance
