                                            Credit union directors are subject to increasing scrutiny and pressure from regulators
                                            to ensure that they are fulfilling their responsiblilty to provide effective oversight of their credit 
                                            union's management of regulatory risk. The challenge that directors face in fulfilling this                                   
                                            responsibility is daunting when one considers the speed and volume of regulatory change.
                                            This session will tackle the subjects currently on the front burner at the Department, as well
                                            as provide first-hand insight regarding the agency's expectations.

                                            Brian Knight, Excecutive Vice President and General Counsel, NASCUS
                                            FinCEN the federal regulatory responsible for enforcement of BSA rules, continues
                                            to watch credit union compliance closely.  This session will explore the shifting landscape
                                            of BSA/AML and examine the hot topics every credit union executive and director needs
                                            to know for BSA in 2017. The session will also survey the national issues everyone will be 
                                            talking about in 2017.

                                            Mike Blalack, Partner, Blalack Williams Law Firm
                                            Regulatory expectations for credit union Directors have never been higher. In this fast paced 
                                            session, credit union attorney Mike Blalack will provide Directors with a basic foundation
                                            for understanding their fiduciary duties and responsibilities and then also provide practical 
                                            recommendations on how Directors can actually fulfill those fiduciary duties and 
                                            responsibilities.

 

                2:15 p.m.             Strategic Thought
                                            Emily Hollis, President and CEO, ALM First
                                            Business plans are forever changing attempting to prevent devasting events. This session
                                            will provoke strategic thought for managing and overcoming potential challenges in 2016 and 
                                            beyond. The session will focus on black swan events, what caused the credit crisis and the 
                                            aftermath. The session will also cover regulation and politics and insight into the Fed's                   
                                            Fed's balance sheet.
